Count the covers you lose, not a generic ROI figure
The only honest way to size this investment is against your own numbers: patio seat count, average check, turns per service, and the number of days last season the patio was closed, half-empty or given up on by 7pm. Multiply and you have the range the project has to beat. Anyone quoting you a percentage return without those four inputs is guessing.
Aspen adds a second variable most towns do not have — the shoulder seasons. Late spring and late autumn are when an enclosure quietly earns its keep, because those are the weeks the patio is technically open and practically unusable.
Design for the mountain climate, not the calendar
Aspen sits well above 7,000 feet, which drives three things at once: colder overnight lows than the Front Range, much stronger UV on every exposed surface, and snow that arrives as a structural load rather than an inconvenience. Talk to the City of Aspen before you fabricate

Can an Aspen patio be used through the ski season?
That is the usual reason for the project. Enclosing the frontage stops wind and snow, and with heating the space becomes sellable in winter. How comfortable it is depends on your heating and how the enclosure is operated — a single-glazed frameless system is a weather envelope, not insulation.
Does the patio still open in summer?
