In summer the operable panels do the work: open the run and the moisture leaves with the air. The design case is the months when the enclosure stays shut. Then warm water evaporating into a closed volume raises humidity until it condenses on the coldest surface available, which at Aspen's overnight lows is the glazing and any cold bridge in the supporting structure.
Mechanical ventilation or dehumidification is normally part of the answer, and it belongs in the design from the outset. Retrofitting it after a winter of streaming glass and damp timber costs more and fixes less. We will raise this at the estimate even when it is not what the brief asked about.

As with any Aspen project, roof geometry comes first. Where a roof plane above discharges, the glazed run either sits clear of the shed zone or is protected by snow retention above. Drifting snow banking against the enclosure is the second load, and it acts on the panels and track as well as on the structure.
There is a practical point specific to pools: you have to be able to get in after a heavy fall, and the plant has to be reachable. Which bay stays operable and where the run stacks are decided with that in mind, alongside the structural assessment against the design loads assigned to your site.

Glazing around a pool is a hazardous-location question. Architectural glazing materials are regulated federally under the Consumer Product Safety Commission standard in 16 CFR Part 1201, and the building code adopted by your jurisdiction applies its own requirements for glazing near water, walkways and doors. Our panels are tempered; whether a specific configuration satisfies the rules for your site is determined against those rules by the authority having jurisdiction, not asserted by us.
Enclosing a pool also does not remove barrier, gate and access requirements, and in some layouts the enclosure becomes part of the barrier and must be detailed accordingly. Establish that early, because it changes the design rather than the finish.

The City of Aspen Building Department determines what is required for your address and scope, and designated properties also come under the city's Historic Preservation programme. Confirm both before fabrication; on pool projects this is worth doing before the layout is fixed.
On performance, be clear-eyed. Reducing air movement across the water cuts the largest heat-loss path, so heating demand falls and the season lengthens. How much depends on your pool volume, set temperature, cover use, ventilation strategy and how often the enclosure is open.
